Notch 8, a six-story, 253 unit wood framed apartment building is part of The Exchange at Potomac Yard, a 1.9 million sf development, with office, hotel, retail, residential space, and a new Metro station. Amenities include a pool, bathhouse, party room and green roof courtyard. Notch 8 also features retail space that houses a Giant supermarket. This structure consists of 2.5 levels of underground parking. The underground parking levels, retail level at grade, retail elevated podium and courtyard areas were all created with a conventionally reinforced concrete design. The structure above the transfer slab is the residential portion of the building, which consists of 4 stories of wood-framed construction.
