Apartments-Condos, Mid-High-Rise
Client: Hickok Cole Architects
Location: Washington, DC
Completion: 2007
Building Type: Apartments-Condos, Mid-High-Rise
This project consists of 2 residential condominium buildings located in Washington, D.C. The first building is a 9-story, 26 unit, above grade structure with one level below grade. The second building is an existing 3 story building which will undergo major renovations for this condo conversion, including replacing the roof and adding 8 new stair openings for the 8 condo units. The roof and upper 5 stories are constructed of load-bearing light gauge metal stud framing supporting bar joists with composite floors. The lower four floors are constructed of structural steel frames. The lateral system is composed of either steel moment frames or light gauge shear walls. This project required a deep, steel pile foundation.
