Apartments-Condos, Parking Garage, Townhomes
Client: Perkins Eastman Architects DPC
Location: Princeton, NJ
Completion: 2017
Building Type: Apartments-Condos, Parking Garage, Townhomes
Located in the heart of the Princeton University campus, Avalon Princeton combines luxury with convenience in 2 buildings wrapping an at grade courtyard. The buildings contain a total of 280 dwelling units, built-in retail, and amenity spaces. Elevated covered bridges allow residents to travel between buildings and to the parking garage. Foundations for both buildings and the parking garage include conventional spread footings and slab on grade. The at grade level of the buildings is constructed of concrete columns and walls. A conventionally reinforced concrete elevated slab separates the first level amenity space from the units above. The units are constructed of Type 5A wood-framed walls and prefabricated wood roof and floor trusses. The building includes 2 steel framed bridges that span from building to building and building to garage.
