Project Overview

Located across from the Bloomfield NJ Train Station, this transit oriented development includes 224 apartment units and 60,000 sf of retail. This 4-story complex houses retail tenants on the at-grade level and apartments on the upper levels. Amenities include a rooftop patio with BBQ grills and fire pit, resident lounge, fitness center and ground floor retail including supermarket, dining and specialty shops. Part of an urban renewal effort at Bloomfield Center, the project is also convenient to hiking and jogging trails. The structure is comprised of a cast in place (CIP) transfer slab on 20"x20" CIP concrete columns. The building wraps around an existing precast parking garage. One of the larger ground floor tenant spaces, a grocery store, includes a steel mezzanine level for back of house operations. The levels above the transfer slab were constructed of 2x field framed walls with 18" pre-manufactured wood floor trusses. The roof has been constructed of pre-manufactured wood roof trusses.
