Client: The Sullivan Architectural Group
Location: Chester, NY
Completion: 2012
Building Type: Apartments-Condos, Mixed-Use
The Mariner is an apartment complex situated on the Byram River near the Port Chester, NY train station. The podium style building provides 100 apartments in four levels over 150 ground level parking spaces. The roof will hold a gathering deck overlooking the Byram River. Stairwells and elevator shafts are masonry. The structured transfer level between the garage and units above is created from conventionally reinforced concrete supported on concrete columns. The foundation includes deep piles with concrete caps and grade beams for poor soil conditions. A structural slab on grade is provided in several areas.
The foundation system required deep piles with concrete caps and grade beams due to the poor soil conditions.
