Mixed-Use
Client: Davidson Wayne Development
Location: Elizabeth, NJ
Completion: 2015
Building Type: Mixed-Use
Luxury rental apartments have arrived in Elizabeth with the opening of Station Commons on Pennsylvania Avenue. The 100-unit complex, just steps away from the North Elizabeth Train Station, features one, two, and three bedroom apartments. Parking is included in the below gradeound garage. The complex also features two gyms, a business center, a lounge with a pool table, and an event room. Construction includes 5 stories of residential units over top of two levels of structured parking. A small portion of the parking level at grade houses 2,100sf of retail space. The courtyard at the first residential level drops below the level of the units with a slab fold. The 4 levels of residential units are created using a composite bar joist system supported upon cold formed steel bearing walls and steel frames. The mid-level garage slabs, retail area slab, garage walls, and foundations, as well as the structured transfer level above, were created from conventionally reinforced concrete. A deep pile foundation system is used throughout the project.
